Pylon Line was originally setup by Barrie Lever primarily to distribute the Merlin glow plug range in Europe, when Al Kelly of Merlin glow plugs passed away there was a period of inactivity at Pylon Line whilst an assessment of the future business direction was made.

Since the end of 2020 Pylon Line has engaged in a wider range of manufacturing and sales activities of premium competition modelling items for the RC pylon race market. Since the spring of 2021 Pylon Line has also acted as the online sales outlet for Dick Harts PCPJ range of CL speed kits, accessories and Pulse Jet engines.

Barrie Lever has been flying model aircraft since the late 1960's and since 1978 has flown most classes of RC pylon racing and has been National Champion on 8 occasions and is a current course record holder for the popular C32 class.

Barrie now also flies CL speed and currently concentrates on the pulse jet classes and whilst he does not yet have a record in his own name he did proxy fly Dick Harts current UK record holding Sport Jet flight.
