This is the exact type of torque rods that we race with not something adapted from a sport model hardware kit.
The torque rods are buried into the trailing edge of the wing, ideally just flush with the underside of the wing and using bottom hinged ailerons.
The torque rods come pre bent at the aileron end at the correct angle, the inboard end has a flat ground on it, the aileron torque rod horn is then held onto this with a grub screw and retaining compound or epoxy.
The pushrods then attach in the conventional manner.
